sometimes we just forget to raise our hands and make a prayer.
that is the reason our life is a lil bit difficult.
it might be His way of reminding us. 🙂
(Al-Baqarah : 201)

Dear Masseymissey’s Readers,
HAPPY FRIDAY UOLS!!!
ok….so let’s talk about “mandi bunga” or floral bath…..(direct translation…..)
i bought a packet of flower petals from cameron highlands last week…..and i thought…why not have a mandi bunga?….not for any particular reason….just because its refreshing and the colors of the roses petals can sooth the eyes….
recently…we saw a famous bride : Lisa Surihani….going thru the adat “mandi bunga” just before her wedding day….
what is it really for?
and is it appropriate in Islam?
so here’s an article taken from : http://themalaysianlife.blogspot.com/2008/03/mandi-bunga-ritual.html
The mandi bunga is performed to dispel bad luck (bad vibes) – “buang sui” or “buang sial”. The rationale is that once a person is void of bad luck, he’s able to attract good fortune.
There is, however, no scientific evidence as to how effective these baths are in achieving the desired result or if they do really work. What we know is, that these baths have been practiced for generations and could be nothing more than a case of mind over matter – a placebo. Whatever it is, there is no harm trying – at least it is refreshing.
Despite what is said about Asian rituals, such as, it not being congruent with western science – there is no way to explain the Asian concept “heaty” and “cooling” with reference to western science, but the practice has been proven to effectively cure minor ailments like flu, coughs, colds, fevers etc, nevertheless. Similarly, whilst the effectiveness of mandi bunga cannot be proved with reference to western science, it may nevertheless work.
some say that the petals can actually give out color energy vibration to the body…thus making our body feel more refresh and cool…..but is there an actual energy? it is yet to be proven……
here’s the ingredients for mandi bunga (my style…..) :
a dozen of colorful roses (not petals)
a cup of bunga melur
a cup of bunga kenanga
2 kaffir lime
a few of bunga kesidang (not the whole stem…coz the stem will give out that rubbery liquid)
a few of pomelo leaves
2 stem of daun pandan
1. pull the petals from the roses and immediately pour some hot water….
2. after 15mins …add the other flowers…and add the same amount of cold water to the hot water….
3. leave it for another 30mins….then add the pomelo leaves and daun pandan (tied in a knot)…
4. squeeze the juice of the kaffir lime…and add it to the water mixture…
….and tadaaaa…..have a refreshing bath!
PS: this is my style of the floral bath…..maybe correct maybe not…..and it is done just because it is refreshing…not for any particular reason……

Dear masseymissey’s readers, tonight i wanna talk about the 2nd love of my life: SHOES (1st being mr.hubby of course…) hahaha….well on 8th-11th of March was the warehouse sale for the brand charles and keith…at usj…. i’m a fan of charles and keith shoes….i even wanted them for my wedding hantaran…although it wasn’t all that expensive like LV or prada….i just wanted them coz i like them….they’re comfy and just nice…. u see women and shoes are like guys with their gf….when u find the rite one….u think they’re so comfy and fits really well with u….u just dont want any other….that 1 pair is enuf….and if the strap is torn out or the heels broke….u wouldnt mind mending it coz u love them that much…..~~ …..poetic rite? hahaha hubby knows i love my shoes so much…..if i had the money…..i would be like carrie in sex and the city …..i would build an entire closet for my shoes…(when i have enuf of them to fill in….) hahaha anyways…back to the sale….. it was my first time goin to a warehouse sale….luckily i came on the 1st day…..all sizes were still available…. but mannnnn!!! it was hot and sweaty and women everywhere running and screaming~~ it was exactly like a scene in “the confessions of a shopholic”…. ok…. lets get to the shoes…..i bought 3 pairs….. ranging from rm39.90-rm59.90…. the first shoe that i saw and immediately scream : “i want that! size 7 please!!” …from 5 feet away….hahaha it was a studed purple-ish leather-ish platform ….the original price was rm139.90….i got it for rm39.90….. HAPPY! 🙂 the 2nd pair is a white stiched on black leather-ish strap…..i dunnoe the original price but i got it less than rm50… ….and the 3rd pair is a wedge shoe…with dark brown and navy strap….i got it 1 size bigger coz that was the only size left….and the person next to me was eye-ing this shoe while i was still holding it….so i decided to just take it….even though it was 1 size bigger….hahahahaha (the temptation when u r being pressured….hahahaha) Ok… so all in all… i spent less than rm150…for 3 pairs of good shoes! worth every penny saved up since last december’s mega sale (..which i didn’t get a chance to shop coz didn’t have enuf money then….) hahahaha this would last me till the end of the year!~ for all of u who missed it…….better luck next time!~ 🙂 PS: i swear i came home that nite…..beggin to hubby if i could sleep with my shoes….hahahaha (…saiko…get a life amy!) Dear Massey’s readers,
it was one hot day…. (too hot coz the temp was 35celcius)
we were hungry and the house was like a freakin oven….
so we decided to become a “foodie” in ipoh and search for cool (or kewl) new places to eat…
Hainan Chicken Rice…..well ipoh is well known for chicken/duck rice…since the population here is mostly chinese….but to find halal and delicious food here is quite difficult…..or is it maybe we just haven’t got the time to explore ipoh yet?
wonderful…wonderful…declicious chicken rice!
just made our day…and the price was quite alrite!

i was so excited to sew something….<—will tell in later posts… 🙂
i managed to somehow transport my aunt’s sewing machine from Melaka – Tronoh…..
THAT was how excited i get with new projects.
anyways…once it was safe and sound at my house….i found out that it wasn’t working properly…..
i couldn’t even manage tr0 get the bobbin inserted properly (fyi…it was not bcoz of my lack of skills ok…..)
so….as usual i googled for the manuals and also the nearest singer machine service shop….
turn out that the nearest is in Batu Gajah only… (soo near maa)
so made a few calls….and there i was….at singer service shop…
and guess what?
i met the most talented serviceman u can get.
a late 40 chinese uncle…who knew all the selok belok of any.YES. i mean any singer sewing machine….
if u had the old bulky black machine…or the modern 26 stiches ones….he knew it all…
me and hubby called him SIFU.
coz he was a master of the sewing machines..
anyways….when the machine was all done and the damages been fixed (1 week after)…
we came to pick it up…..but instead i got a free lesson on sewing!! he tought me and hubby (yes guys….my hubby can sew now) all the basic functions from how to thread the bobbin to some complicated stuff like how to do a button hole…
stayed there for an hour…and he didn’t even charge a penny for the sewing lesson…
before leaving i actually said “uncle jangan pergi mana2 tau…jgn tukar kedai tau…nnt saya mau belajar jahit lagi”….
he was the most patient sifu. coz i was the most dopey and slow student he could have. haha
LETS GET SEWING!!
